Course Care

Bunkers

Before leaving a bunker, a player should carefully fill up and smooth over all holes and footprints, and then leave the rake with the head of the rake pointing towards the pin.

• Always enter the bunker at the lowest point.
• Pull rake toward you as you exit the bunker.
• If required, rake other affected areas.
• Do not pile sand at the edge of the bunker. Push back excess sand.
• Do not rake the face of the bunker. Smooth out with the back of rake.

Bunker Rake Policy

Always leave the rake on the edge of the bunker with the tip of the handle outside of the bunker. The head of the rake should always be pointing towards the pin on the green. Rakes should always be placed on the back edge of the bunker.

Repairing Ball Marks

• Always start at the back of the mark and push forward with the repairer.
• Use repairer around all sides and slowly ease turf toward the centre of the mark. Do not lift the soil upwards.
• Lightly tap down with putter.
• Your completed repair should look like this.

Repairing Divots

• Always start at the back of the mark and push forward with the repairer.
• Use repairer around all sides and slowly ease turf toward the centre of the mark. Do not lift the soil upwards.
• Lightly tap down with putter.
• Your completed repair should look like this.

Flagsticks, Bags, etc.

Players and caddies should ensure they cause no damage to the green when putting down bags or the flagstick. They should not stand too close to the hole when handling the flagstick or removing the ball. Replace the flagstick on leaving the green.

• Don’t drop the flagstick on the putting surface as it will cause damage.
• Always lower the flagstick by club….or by hand.
• Avoid damage to surrounds by placing the stick in the centre of the cup.
